News of bomb in 4 planes including Air India creates panic, one lands in Canada


An Air India flight from New Delhi to Chicago was diverted to an airport in Canada following a bomb threat on Tuesday. Along with this, a total of four planes in the country have received bomb threats, which has created a stir. After receiving the bomb threat, the planes are being landed at the nearest airport and are being thoroughly investigated. Apart from Air India, SpiceJet, Indigo and Akasa planes have also received similar threats. Security agencies have intensified efforts to trace those who threaten the planes.

An airline official gave this information. Air India said in a statement that flight number AI-127 from Delhi to Chicago on October 15, 2024 has been landed at Iqaluit Airport in Canada as a precautionary measure following a security threat posted online. The statement said, “The aircraft and passengers are being re-screened as per the prescribed security protocol. Air India has activated agencies at the airport to assist passengers till their travel resumes. The official said that a bomb threat has been received on this flight.

According to Flightradar24, Air India flight number AI-127 took off from New Delhi for Chicago at 3:00 am (IST) and was scheduled to land in Chicago at 7:00 am (US time) but before that via email The plane was found to contain a bomb, after which it was landed in Canada. This plane is Boeing 777.

Till 5.38 pm Indian time, the plane was still at the Canadian airport and had not taken off further. Meanwhile, Air India has said that the airline as well as other local airlines have faced several threats in recent times. A day earlier on Monday, an Air India flight from Mumbai to New York was diverted to Delhi following a bomb threat. The aircraft was thoroughly inspected, following standard safety protocols. No suspicious object was found inside the plane.
