Today, on October 15, the date of Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections 2024 was announced. Along with this, the dates of by-elections for Budhni and Vijaypur seats of Madhya Pradesh were also announced. Let us tell you that Budhni seat had become vacant after Shivraj Singh Chauhan became MP. Congress’s Ramniwas Rawat had left the Vijaypur seat.
Election Commission released the date
Giving information, the Election Commission said that by-elections will be held on Budhni and Vijaypur seats on 13th November. After this, the results of the elections will be released on 23 November. Let us tell you that the results of other two states Jharkhand and Maharashtra will also be declared on the same date i.e. 13th November.
Reason for holding elections in Budhni
Let us tell you that former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan had been contesting elections from Budhni. This time in the year 2023 also, he contested the elections from this seat of Sehore district and won. But after this he contested the Lok Sabha elections from Vidisha and became an MP. After becoming MP, he resigned from Budhni seat. Therefore this seat was vacant and now elections are being held on it.
Reason for holding elections in Vijaypur
Congress was in control of Vijaypur assembly of Sheopur district. Congress candidate Ramnivas had won the election from this seat in the year 2023. But he later joined BJP. After this he resigned from the assembly post. For this reason by-elections are being held here also.
