IT engineer murdered in MP’s Jabalpur for stopping him from drinking alcohol, stabbed with a knife


In Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, a software engineer was stabbed to death by four people who gathered around his scooter to stop him from drinking alcohol. A police officer gave this information. The officer said that this incident took place in Ghamapur police station area on the intervening night of Sunday-Monday. The deceased has been identified as Naveen Sharma.

Ghamapur police station in-charge Satish Kumar Andhwan said that the 42-year-old IT professional had gone to Kanchghar on Sunday night with his friend on a scooter to watch Dussehra. He told that when Sharma returned to collect his scooter around 3 o’clock in the night, he saw four people gathered around his vehicle and drinking alcohol. Andhwan told that Naveen asked him to remove the liquor glasses kept on the seat of the scooter, after which the accused started arguing.

He told that the dispute escalated so much that all four people attacked Naveen with a sharp weapon about half a dozen times and ran away from the spot. The officer said that after receiving the information, the police took Naveen to the nearest hospital, where he was declared dead. In connection with the case, the police have taken all four accused into custody and they are being interrogated.
