Fraud with women… Sharad Pawar angry at Eknath Shinde government regarding ‘Ladki Bahin Yojana’

Nationalist Congress Party (SCP) chief Sharad Pawar accused the Eknath Shinde government of Maharashtra of cheating women. He said that the Mahayuti coalition government is cheating women in the Chief Minister Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana. He alleged that there is a clear lack of budget and financial provisions in the scheme. If the government runs this scheme in a sustainable manner then his party never opposes. There is a dispute going on between Mahayuti and opposition parties regarding this scheme which was started in the month of August this year. Recently, Devendra Fadnavis took a jibe at the opposition parties and appealed to the people to beware of some “step brothers” who are trying to stop the welfare scheme.

According to ANI report, Sharad Pawar said in a press conference on Sunday that there is no clarity in the budget and financial provision in the Chief Minister Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana in Maharashtra, due to which there is doubt over the survival of this scheme in future. If the Mahayuti government is really serious about this scheme and makes clear and separate provisions for it, then his party will never oppose this scheme. Pawar further said, “Chief Minister My Girl Sister Scheme is a fraud.”

Uddhav Thackeray faction of Shiv Sena and Congress leaders are also present during the press conference. All of them released a white paper, criticizing the Maharashtra government for its alleged failures on several issues like women’s safety, farmers’ distress and the collapse of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s statue.

It is noteworthy that the Shinde government of Maharashtra had started this scheme in the beginning of August this year. The government calls this scheme one of its achievements. The government allocated Rs 46,000 crore to implement the scheme in the state budget in July. Amid opposition parties’ opposition to the scheme, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on October 8 had appealed to women to beware of some “step brothers” trying to stop welfare schemes.

People of Maharashtra are eager for political change- Sharad Pawar

Sharad Pawar also said that the people of Maharashtra are eager for political change and expressed confidence that this sentiment will be reflected in the results of the upcoming state assembly elections. Addressing a press conference here along with leaders of other constituents of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), Pawar claimed that the morale of the state administration has fallen under the Mahayuti regime while the Maharashtra administration was considered the best in the country.

He said, “We want to liberate the people from the present government and I am confident that they will support us.” He said that the MVA will repeat the performance like the Lok Sabha elections in the upcoming assembly elections. The grand alliance includes Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, BJP and Ajit Pawar-led NCP.
