A few days ago, a large quantity of material for making drugs was found in a shop in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. An accused in the Mephedrone drug seizure allegedly shot himself to escape ‘rigorous police interrogation’ and then surrendered in Mandsaur, an official has said. Gujarat Anti-Terrorist and Narcotics Control Bureau on October 5 had seized 907.09 kg of Mephedrone and raw material for making the drug worth Rs 1,814 crore from a factory located in Bagroda, Bhopal.
Mandsaur Superintendent of Police Abhishek Anand told PTI on Friday, ‘Premsukh Patidar alias ‘fake doctor’ was absconding after the drug consignment. He surrendered at Afzalpur police station here. He was shot in his left thigh with a country-made pistol. He is the fourth person to be arrested in this case.
The SP said, ‘A weapon has been seized from Patidar, who has been admitted to the district hospital. The pistol looks illegal. Patidar injured himself to escape strict police interrogation. According to the police, Patisar is allegedly the partner of Harish Anjana, another accused in the case. Let us tell you that on Tuesday, the police had recovered the raw material used in making drugs from a shop in Bhopal. MD drugs worth Rs 250 to 350 crore could have been produced from the seized material.
Politics intensifies in drug seizure case
Politics in this matter has intensified since a large quantity of narcotics was seized two days ago in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. On one hand, Congress State President Jitu Patwari made public the photographs of Harish Anjana, an accused in this case, with Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Deora. Deora responded by saying that many people get photographs taken with people living in public life and no criminal gets saved by getting the photograph clicked.
