Jabalpur Municipal Corporation of Madhya Pradesh will also get the houses built and allotted at nine different places in the city verified before registering them in the property tax records so that it can also be known how many of them have received subsidy from the government. With the aim of making the city slum-free, the Municipal Corporation will now collect tax from the houses allotted by the government on subsidy to poor beneficiaries. The Municipal Corporation will not get much income from the tax collected from them, but these houses of the poor will also be registered in the tax records of the Municipal Corporation like other properties.

Sent to revenue inspectors, verification will be done after Dussehra

The Revenue Department of the city has sent the list of houses under the Basic Facilities for Urban Poor (BSUP) sub-mission of Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) in the year 2017 to the Revenue Inspectors of the concerned zone.

List of allotted houses sent

The Municipal Corporation has sent the list of houses built by the government and allotted subsidy to the urban poor in Brijmohan Nagar, Maharajpur, Garha Purva, Katiyaghat, Goureyaghat, Kariyapathar, near MLB School, Choudhary Mohalla and Lemagarden.

Enter the name of the home owner in the tax records

Instructions have been given to verify the houses and enter the name of the house owner in the tax records. Apart from this, it has also been asked to collect information as to how many of these houses are actually being lived in and if they are given on tenancy, then that too should be recorded and action should be taken as per rules.

Ownership rights of houses have been acquired

Under the scheme, subsidized houses were allotted to the poor in 9 different areas by the Central and State Governments. 4939 houses were allotted to the eligible beneficiaries who have now become the owners of the houses. Now the beneficiaries have got the ownership rights of the houses.
