The crown has been stolen from the temple of Kali Ma in Bangladesh. The special thing is that this crown was presented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is reported that this crown was made of silver, which was coated and plated with gold. This incident has happened at a time when there are already reports of Hindu community receiving threats regarding Durga festival in Bangladesh.

According to media reports, the crown was stolen from Jashoreshwari temple on Thursday afternoon. Shortly before the incident, the priests of the temple had left the place after performing daily puja. After this the cleaning worker found that the crown was missing from the goddess’s head. Jashoreshwari Temple is believed to be one of the 51 Shaktipeeths spread across India and surrounding countries.

The temple is in Ishwaripur of Satkhira. It is believed that it was built by a Brahmin named Anari in the 12th century. He built a temple of 100 doors for Jashoreshwari Peeth. Later in the 13th century it was renovated by Laxman Sen. This temple was rebuilt by King Pratapaditya in the 16th century. PM Modi presented this crown during his visit to Bangladesh in March 2021.

Then during his visit to Bangladesh, PM Modi had said that India will build a community building in this temple. He had said that the hall would be very helpful in terms of social, religious and educational programs. Also, it will work as a shelter during disasters like storms.
