When Ritesh-Genelia went for honeymoon, they met Ratan Tata, told a heart touching story

Posts of many celebrities are visible on social media on the death of Ratan Tata. Now Ritesh Deshmukh has written an old anecdote. This was during Ritesh and Genelia’s honeymoon when they met Ratan Tata there. Ritesh has told how Ratan Tata taught him a great lesson knowingly or unknowingly and how meeting both of them made that meeting memorable.

When Ratan Tata met in Rome

Ritesh writes, when I look back at April 2012, it seems that it is a very old thing. Genelia and I were engrossed in our honeymoon in Rome. Little did we know that our breakfast at the hotel would turn out to be an unforgettable experience. Genelia elbowed me. Far away in the room, her eyes met a familiar person – Mr. Ratan Tata. My father and he had a good relationship but I did not get a chance to meet him earlier. I gathered courage to go up to him and talk to him, before I could introduce myself, he welcomed me with a smile and said, Hello Ritesh.

Ratan Tata apologized

Ritesh further writes, the apology for not being able to come to our wedding due to travel touched my heart. His doing so was proof of how humble, considerate and kind he is. When I told that Genelia was also with me, he asked where she was. I looked at Genelia and asked her to come to us but before she could take even a step, without hesitation he got up from his seat and reached her. His words, ‘Never ask a lady to walk, go and say hello to her yourself’, are stuck in my mind forever.

lessons learned forever

In these few moments I saw the reflection of Mr. Tata’s politeness and humility. His very presence deserved respect, not only for his achievements but also for the personality he was. Years have passed but this memory will remain fresh. I remember that meeting not only for the lessons I learned but also for the warmth and kindness he shared with us. Mr Tata, you will always be remembered as a legend, a true epitome of grace and kindness. Your influence will continue to inspire generations. You will always be alive. Ritesh Deshmukh.

Genelia’s comment
