19 new cases of dengue in 375 samples, eight of them children.


Out of 375 samples tested at Gajararaja Medical College and District Hospital, 33 were found dengue positive on Wednesday. These include 19 cases from Gwalior and 14 from other districts. Out of 19 cases in Gwalior, dengue has been confirmed in 8 children. Their age ranges from two years to 15 years.

The total number of dengue positive patients in the district since January has reached 964. After the confirmation of new positive patients, Malaria Officer Dr. Vinod Kumar Dauneria instructed the team to conduct a survey after getting information about the health of the victims. Also, investigation teams reached various wards and conducted larval survey. During the larval survey, people were given information about prevention from dengue and malaria.

Fine collected and instructions given for finding dirt

The Municipal Corporation is regularly imposing fines on shopkeepers who cause littering and those residents of houses where mosquito larvae are found. In this sequence, the corporation staff imposed a fine of Rs 500 on those found littering at a meat shop in Ward 38 and a fine of Rs 500 on those found littering near Girwai Kalari. Along with this, four meat shops were inspected on Gol Pahadiya. Apart from this, a fine of Rs 3,000 was collected from the shopkeepers who littered in various areas of the former assembly constituency and instructions were also given not to litter in future.

Municipal Corporation got fogging done in dengue affected areas

To prevent infectious diseases and mosquitoes, the Municipal Corporation is doing fogging and spraying insecticides in all the wards. The corporation is especially focused on dengue affected areas. Due to this, the employees of the corporation, at Hujrat Bridge, Mor Bazaar, Dullapur behind the fair ground, Balabai’s market, Band Market, Deendayal Nagar, Adityapuram, Gadaipura, Silk Mill, Kanchmill, Gol Paharia, Pinto Park, Vinay Nagar, Shiv Vihar Colony, Along with fogging, pesticides were sprayed in areas like Char Shahr Ka Naka, Hanuman Square, Tansen Nagar, Sai Vihar Colony, Sangam Vihar Colony, Madhavganj, Baragaon, Darpan Colony etc.
