Crude oil has given a blow to the hopes of reducing the prices of petrol and diesel. Crude oil prices have been on fire since last September 27. During this period, the price of crude oil has increased by about $10 per barrel. Before September 27, the price of crude oil was around $70 per barrel and this had increased the expectation of petrol and diesel becoming cheaper. According to the latest rate released on Bloomberg Energy, December futures of Brent crude is $ 80.70 per barrel. Whereas, November futures of WTI were at $ 76.93 per barrel. Meanwhile, oil marketing petroleum companies have released the rates of petrol and diesel. There has been no change in this even today.
Goldman Sachs estimates that if Iran’s oil supply is reduced due to the conflict, the price of oil will rise by $ 20 per barrel. OPEC+’s additional capacity could offset some of the supply losses, potentially limiting price gains.
India’s eye on crude oil
Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri on Monday said with global crude oil prices rising due to the growing crisis in West Asia, India is closely monitoring the situation and is fully confident of handling any challenges. Is. “We are keeping a close eye on the situation,” Puri said at the ExxonMobil Global Outlook 2024 here. If tensions increase in West Asia, availability may be affected.
