Woman fell into well with 15 month old child in Gunga, both died


The woman had gone to worship at the place of the goddess near the well, 50 meters away from the house, with her son in her lap. After the puja, she was plucking fruits from the custard apple tree near the well. Then suddenly her foot slipped and she fell into the well.

In Gunga police station area of ​​Berasia tehsil, a woman and her 15-month-old child died due to drowning in a well under suspicious circumstances. The incident happened on Saturday afternoon. After receiving the information, the police reached the spot, prepared the Panchnama and sent the body to the hospital for post-mortem.

After investigation, the police have taken the matter under investigation. The relative told the police that the woman was plucking custard apple from a tree near the well with the child in her lap, when due to loss of balance, both the mother and son fell into the well.

Gunga police station in-charge HS Verma said that 27-year-old Sangeeta, resident of Nalkheda, Berasia, was married to farmer Sunil Kushwaha, resident of Gunga, three years ago. He also had a 15 month old son. On Saturday afternoon, Sangeeta, carrying her son in her lap, had gone to worship at the place of the goddess near the well, 50 meters away from the house.

At around 12.30 pm, she suddenly fell into the well along with the child. The relatives took out the bodies of both of them with the help of the villagers. During initial interrogation, relatives told that Sangeeta was plucking custard apple with the child in her lap, when she slipped and fell into a well near a tree. The case is being investigated.
