Shock to Bilal who posted objectionable posts on Lord Ram, CM Yogi and Hindu religion, petition rejected

Mohammed Bilal has received a setback from the Madhya Pradesh High Court in the case of allegedly objectionable Instagram posts about Lord Ram, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Hindu religion. The High Court has rejected the petition demanding cancellation of the FIR registered against him.

Mohammad Bilal got the FIR registered against him under sections 294, 153A, 295A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sections 3(1) and 3(2) of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act at a police station in Satna. A petition was filed to. Bilal had claimed in his petition that some people hacked his Instagram account two days ago and uploaded objectionable posts.

A single judge bench of Justice GS Ahluwalia said, “It is clear from the FIR that the complainant had asked the petitioner as to why the objectionable post was uploaded on his Instagram account. “Instead of telling that the post was uploaded by someone else after hacking his account, he (the petitioner) started abusing and humiliating the complainant and also hurt his religious sentiments.”

Last month’s high court order had said, “This conduct of the petitioner shows that his defense of someone else uploading the objectionable post on his Instagram account is false. Since the petitioner himself has admitted to uploading the objectionable post on his Instagram account, he has no right to react the way he did to the complainant.”

Justice Ahluwalia said that whether the allegations made in the FIR are true or not cannot be considered at this time. The order said that in view of the fact that a cognizable offense has been disclosed in the concerned FIR, no case for interference is made out.
