How to apply for PM Internship Scheme, first batch starting from 2nd December


The Modi government at the Center has started the Prime Minister Internship Scheme as a pilot project to create future employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for the youth. The portal for applications was opened on Thursday. On the first day, companies invited applications for 1077 posts till 11 am. A target has been set to provide internship to 1.25 lakh candidates in the current financial year, which will be taken forward. The internship of the candidates will start from December 2.

Through the portal, companies will disclose the number of vacant posts under the internship program and candidates will be able to apply. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has fixed the deadline for starting the internship. Internship will start in the companies of the candidates under the first batch before December 2.

Under internship, companies can apply for vacant posts till October 10. From 12th to 25th October, candidates will be able to register by visiting the portal. After that, the list of selected candidates will be prepared between October 27 and November 7. Offer letters will be sent from November 8 to November 25, while the internship of selected youth will start in companies from December 2.

A large number of companies joined the internship portal

Top 500 companies have been included, which will give the youth an opportunity to do internship.

A lump sum amount of Rs 6000 will be given. Five thousand rupees will be given every month, out of which Rs 4500 will be given by the Central Government and Rs 500 will be given by the company from CSR fund.

Indian youth in the age group of 21-24 years who are not engaged in any full-time employment or education will be eligible.

Students associated with online and distance education will be eligible for the internship program.

Those whose family income will be more than eight lakh in the financial year 2023-24 will not be eligible.

If any member of the family does a permanent government job then the youth of such family will not be eligible.

After the opening of the Prime Minister Internship Scheme portal, a large number of companies have registered themselves and expressed their desire to take youth as interns. Sources associated with the ministry have said that within a few hours of the launch of the portal, i.e. till 11 am, companies had registered for 1077 posts, which include companies from agriculture, automobile and pharma sectors, who have applied from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttarakhand and Youth have demanded for seven districts of Telangana. A total of seven districts are covered in these.

On behalf of the Ministry, it has been said that under this program, an effort is made to give the youth an opportunity to do a 12-month internship in their own district, nearby districts or in their own state. Young people should understand the work related to companies closely and take training in it, so that they can be trained for the job in future.
