Armed miscreants entered the house and took husband and wife hostage, looted jewelery and cash.


The miscreants first climbed on top of the house and cut the power line and also switched off the connection of the CCTV cameras. When the couple woke up after hearing the noise, they were held hostage at gunpoint and ran away with Rs 3 lakh in cash, one tola of gold and silver jewelery and goods worth Rs 4 lakh kept in the house.

Late Friday night, in village Murel Kalan of Raisen district, unknown miscreants entered a house, took a husband and wife hostage and committed robbery. As soon as information about the incident was received, ASP Kamlesh Kumar, SDOP Pratibha Sharma and TI Sandeep Chaurasia reached the spot along with the police force.

Initial investigation has revealed loot of around Rs 4 lakh. The police is busy investigating the matter. Four to five miscreants entered the house of Kundan Ahirwar, a resident of village Murrell Kalan, at around 1.30 in the night. First of all, the miscreants climbed on top of the house and cut the power line and also switched off the connection of CCTV cameras.

Held hostage with a cloth tied around his mouth

Kundan woke up due to the falling of chairs kept outside the house, but before he could raise any noise, the miscreants tied his mouth with a cloth and took him hostage. When his wife woke up, she was also taken hostage at knife point. The miscreants escaped with Rs 3 lakh in cash, one tola of gold and silver jewelery and goods worth a total of Rs 4 lakh kept in the house.

According to Kundan, the number of miscreants was four to five, but due to darkness he could not identify them properly. As soon as information about the incident was received, police officers and forces reached the spot and started investigation. Police are scanning the footage of CCTV cameras installed on all the roads of the village so that the miscreants can be identified.

Goods worth about Rs 4 lakh were taken away

Four to five miscreants have committed the robbery. A total of Rs 4 lakh was stolen, including Rs 3 lakh in cash, one tola of gold and silver jewellery.
