Navratri 2024: Madhya Pradesh Director General of Police Sudhir Saxena gave many important instructions in video conferencing with top officials. All the zonal Additional Directors General of Police, Inspector General of Police, Commissioners of Bhopal and Indore, Superintendents of Police of all the districts and other officers were present in the meeting.
Madhya Pradesh Director General of Police Sudhir Saxena has given instructions to take special care of women’s safety at the Garba site during Navratri (Navratri 2024). In the meeting of top officials through video conferencing, the DGP said that special patrolling should be done around the Garba site.
Use drone cameras on the traffic routes at the Garba site. Take cooperation from the workers of Durga Utsav Committee. Arrangements for videography should be made at the Garba site.
Even after the end of Garba, police patrolling will continue until all the women and girls reach home safely. Keep the intelligence system active. The Women Safety Branch of the Police Headquarters will run awareness programs for prevention of crime against women in all the districts.

History sheet of repeat offenders will be prepared
- DGP said that history sheets of those who commit crimes repeatedly should be prepared. Keep a special eye on habitual criminals. Get follow up for speedy resolution of cases pending in fast track courts related to POCSO Act and other sexual crimes.
- Contact senior officials and try to get speedy justice. In all the schools of the state, ensure all arrangements with the help of the district administration as per the guidelines issued by the Supreme Court regarding the safety and security of children.
- Police verification of all staff of all schools should be done compulsorily. Along with this, be vigilant about the people and roads around the school campus. It should be ensured that CCTV cameras are operational in the premises and vehicles.

DGP said that police officers should mark such areas (black spots) in their respective areas by coordinating with the concerned officials of the district administration, urban and rural bodies. Take action against anti-social elements by strengthening the beat system.
Try to install CCTV cameras in coordination with urban and rural bodies. An effective campaign should be launched against those who drink and drive.

Get character verification done for servants and tenants
Police should maintain communication with the general public for effective control of crimes. Sensitize residents regarding women and child safety in housing societies and multi-storeys. Character verification of tenants, servants and temporary employees should also be done compulsorily.
People who have been involved in sexual crimes for 10 years will be monitored
A campaign will be launched in all police station areas in the state against people involved in gender crimes. People involved in such crimes in the last 10 years will be investigated and monitored.
Criminals who commit such crimes more than once will be targeted. If they have left their area and are residing somewhere else, then the concerned police station should be informed so that their activities can be kept under strict surveillance.
