126 Van-Dhan Vikas Kendras have been created in 20 particularly vulnerable tribal dominated districts of the state. At present, more than 37 thousand 800 members are registered in these centres. Through Van-Dhan Vikas Kendras, continuous collection of minor forest produce, primary level processing and marketing and value addition of these minor forest produce are being done on the basis of market demand and availability. It is noteworthy that the work of forest produce collection is mainly done by the tribal communities residing in the state.
A total of 198 Van-Dhan Vikas Kendras are to be built in the state under the Pradhan Mantri Tribal Tribal Justice Maha Abhiyan Yojana (PM Jan-Mann), especially for the Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTG). For this, out of 24 PVTG dominated districts of the state, 17 District Minor Forest Produce Union includes Anuppur, Ashoknagar, North Balaghat, South Balaghat, East Chhindwara, West Chhindwara, South Chhindwara, Dindori, Guna, Gwalior, Katni, East Mandla, West Mandla, Morena. , Narsinghpur, South Shahdol, Sheopur, Sidhi, Shivpuri, Raisen and Vidisha have been identified. At present, proposals for the construction of 221 (more than the target 198) PVTG Van-Dhan Vikas Kendras to be built from these districts at a cost of about Rs 1 crore 47 lakh 65 thousand have been submitted by the Indian Tribal Cooperative Marketing and Development Federation Limited (TRIFED) New Delhi and Tribal The works have been sent to the Ministry of Government of India. Out of these, 57 PVTG Van-Dhan Vikas Kendras have been approved by TRIFED in January this year itself.

In order to increase the income of tribal communities through forest produce and to provide them maximum benefit from the profit of forest produce sale, the Government of India had started the Pradhan Mantri Van-Dhan Vikas Yojana in the year 2018-19. This scheme is being implemented by M.P. It is being done by the State Minor Forest Produce (Trade and Development) Cooperative Union Limited. The implementation of PM Van-Dhan Vikas Yojana in the state started smoothly from the year 2020.
