Now dispensaries will be able to refer workers directly to specialist hospitals, Labor Minister gave instructions

In the meeting of the Regional Council of Employees’ State Insurance Corporation, State Labor Minister Shri Lakhan Lal Dewangan directed the officials to make such a system in which workers and their families can refer the people directly from the dispensary to the specialist hospital (contracted). At present, patients suffering from serious illness and in emergency have to be referred first to the ESIC dispensary and then to the contracted hospital from the main hospital. To ensure that labor families do not have to face a lot of trouble due to this complex process, Minister Shri Dewangan said that until ESIC increases the facilities in its hospitals, adequate facilities should be provided to the patients in other hospitals. The Cabinet Minister directed to conduct a survey of rice mills, malls, shopping complexes, private schools and other institutions of the state and register as many employees as possible in ESIC. He directed to start office and hospital in Bastar soon. Instructed to start 4 new dispensaries in the state. Also asked to increase IPD facilities in ESIC hospitals.

Labor Minister Shri Dewangan has instructed the officials that the workers should get the best treatment in the hospitals run by the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation and they should not face any kind of inconvenience. Cabinet Minister Shri Dewangan gave instructions to this effect in the meeting of the Regional Council under Employees State Insurance Corporation in which ESI and RITES officials were held at Mantralaya Mahanadi Bhawan here today. Shri Dewangan asked the Regional Board members to be invited by the ESI local doctor to inspect the facilities available in the ESIC hospital. Approval has been given to open 4 new dispensaries in Chhattisgarh region, including villages Lara, Kharsia, Tilda and Urla. Action in this regard is being taken by the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation.

Cabinet Minister Shri Dewangan took information from the officials regarding the construction of 100 bed hospital for Bilaspur district. Officials said that the land options given by the state government for the hospital have been examined by the committee and sent to the headquarters. Options are being evaluated by the Headquarters Employees State Insurance Corporation. Dispensary Office (DCBO) was approved for Bastar district. In which, as per the policy decisions taken by the Headquarters Employees State Insurance Corporation, new offices are to be opened only in government, semi-government and public sector buildings. But a suitable building has not been available yet. In this regard, the Cabinet Minister instructed Bharat Sanchar Nigam and Life Insurance Corporation of India to contact these institutions for the availability of the building. Officials said that the land has been identified by the state government for the construction of Village Kurundi Dispensary cum Office (DCBO). This land has been found suitable for this. The Corporation agreed to send a proposal to the State Government regarding getting the allotment done as soon as possible.

Officials said that branch offices are to be opened soon in four more districts of Chhattisgarh. In these, buildings have been taken on rent from BSNL to open branches in Surguja, Surajpur and Dantewada. Whose operation will be started soon. Along with this, correspondence is being made with BSNL for renting a building for opening a branch office in Jashpur. Regarding allotment of land for construction of dispensaries in Urla and Tilda, Collector Office Raipur informed that all the vacant land available in Urla has been handed over to Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation (CSIDC). It was assured by the district administration that if vacant land is available in Urla, then after confirmation from (CSIDC), it will be informed to Employees’ State Insurance Corporation for further action. In this regard, continuous coordination is being done with the district administration. Employees State Insurance Corporation Hospital Rawabhatha Raipur is approved for 100 bed capacity. At present OPD, IPD and emergency department are operating here. Other new services are being added to this hospital in a phased manner. Officials told in the meeting that a hospital with 100 bed capacity is run in Korba by the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation. At present OPD, 24-hour emergency medical service and lab service are running here. Apart from this, OPD service is operated in 100 bed hospitals in Bhilai and Parsada (Raigarh). Other new services are being added to these hospitals in a phased manner. Members of the Regional Council including Mr. Harish Kedia, Mr. D.K. Agarwal and Mr. L.P. Katakwar gave many important suggestions in the interest of the workers.

In the meeting, Secretary cum Labor Commissioner Mrs. Alarmel Mangai D., Zonal Medical Commissioner East Zone Ranchi Dr. Rachita Biswas, Additional Director of Employees’ State Insurance Corporation Raipur Mr. Mahendra Bhoi, Assistant Director Mr. Satyanand Vikas, Special Assistant Mr. Narendra Patanwar, Mr. Prafulla Tiwari were present in the meeting. Other officers were present.
