The date for e-KYC of ration card has been extended till 31 December. Earlier the date for KYC was fixed till 30 September. For this, the Additional Commissioner of Food and Logistics Department has issued a letter to the District Supply Officer. To ensure that poor families do not face food crisis, grains are made available every month through eligible household and Antyodaya ration cards.
Its list was not updated for a long time. Due to this, ration was being denied even in the name of the dead. By putting the thumb impression of any one member of the family at the ration shop, ration is available for all the members. The names of the dead and migrated people and the families who do not go to get ration despite having ration cards are to be removed from the list and new eligible families are to be added.
For this, the process of e-KYC was started. In a letter issued by the Additional Commissioner of Food and Logistics Department, the date of e-KYC (Know-Your Customer) of ration cards of the beneficiaries of the National Food Security Act has been extended from 30 September to 31 December 2024.
