Due to irregularities in the Transport Constable Recruitment Examination held in 2012 through Vyapam, the services of 45 Transport Constables have been terminated

Bhopal
The services of 45 transport constables have been terminated due to irregularities in the transport constable recruitment exam conducted through Vyapam in the year 2012. Vyapam had conducted recruitment exam for 332 transport constable posts in the year 2012. After the exam, the department appointed men selected by Vyapam on the posts reserved for women. Women applicants had raised questions on this. After this, the Transport Department had clarified that 109 posts were reserved for women in the recruitment, but only 53 women were found eligible in the recruitment. For this reason, men were appointed on 56 posts.

The female applicant had approached the High Court
A woman applicant Himadri Raje had filed a petition in the High Court against this decision of the government. After hearing the government’s side, the High Court had asked to cancel the appointments of men on women’s posts in the year 2015. The state government had filed a petition in the Supreme Court against this decision of the High Court. On this, the Supreme Court had asked to cancel the appointment of men in place of women in April this year, keeping the decision of the High Court intact.

I have been working for 10 years, listen to our side too
In this sequence, Transport Secretary Sibi Chakraborty had written a letter to the Transport Commissioner asking him to cancel the appointments. Additional Transport Commissioner Umesh Joga said that the appointments have been cancelled. On the other hand, three constables appointed on the post of women have filed a petition in the Gwalior Bench of the High Court demanding a stay on their dismissal. They say that they have been in service for 10 years, so their side should also be heard.

198 were to be recruited, 332 were recruited
Without the approval of the competent authority, 332 constables were selected against the approved recruitment of 198 constables. Women reservation was not followed. The Transport Department also issued an official letter at that time regarding not conducting the physical test of the selected transport constables.

The matter had reached the CBI
Former Union Minister and then State Congress President Arun Yadav and I had also submitted all the documents related to our allegations to STF, SIT and CBI. Now after the Supreme Court’s decision, the then Chief Minister and present Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and the then Transport Minister and present Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda should resign on moral grounds. – KK Mishra Media Advisor, President- MP Congress Committee
