Five people have been arrested in Madhya Pradesh for trying to convert Hindus to Christianity by giving them money and gifts. This incident took place in Guna district. An official said that three other people including a couple from Rajasthan have been arrested. A case has been registered against all five under the anti-conversion law.
Religious conversion was happening in the village itself
According to the information, the police took this action on the complaint of Charan Singh Adivasi, a resident of Sarsehela village. Charan Singh told the police that he came to know on Sunday morning about some Hindus trying to convert. He got information that Hindus will be converted to Christianity. He informed Hindu organizations about this. He also informed the local people about this.
Greed for money and gifts
Charan Singh along with some other people from the village reached the house of Balmukund Adivasi. There he saw that a man and his wife were giving money and gifts to some people. They were also praying and converting Hindus to Christianity. The man has been identified as Sanju Simon. Sanju was making people pray.
Police took action against five people
According to the information, Sanju Simon and his wife Manju Simon are residents of Baran in Rajasthan. Balmukud Adivasi, Savitri Bai and Pinky Sahariya, residents of the same village, have also been arrested for trying to convert people. A case has been registered against the five under the Madhya Pradesh Religious Freedom Act and Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Act. It has been told that all the accused have been arrested. The matter is being investigated.
