In collaboration with Madhya Pradesh Eco Tourism Development Board, one day bird watching and nature camps are being organized for the students of government schools of Bhopal city and the villages around it in Van Vihar National Park, Bhopal with a view to create awareness among the students about forest wildlife and environment and to develop sensitivity towards nature conservation.
In the same sequence, on September 24, 45 girl students and 02 teachers of Government Higher Secondary School Naveen Kanya Tulsi Nagar Bhopal participated in the bird watching and nature camp. Dr. S.R. Waghmare, retired Deputy Forest Conservator and ornithologist Mo Khaliq Bhopal Birds were present as resource persons in the program.
Subject experts provided information about bird watching, butterfly watching, wildlife watching, information about forestry activities present on the site, interesting activities related to forest, wildlife and environment to the participants and satisfied their curiosity. Also, subject experts provided information to the students about biodiversity and its conservation.
In the camp, the participants were also made to observe wild animals like tiger, leopard, bear, crocodile, gharial, chital, sambhar, nilgai etc. The life cycle of the butterfly was explained by showing its larvae, pupae etc. On this occasion, the participants present took an oath to protect the environment under Mission Life. During this, Assistant Director Van Vihar Shri SK Sinha and other officers and employees were present.
