‘Missing Ladies’ has received India’s official entry in Oscar 2025. Directed by Kiran Rao, the film stars Nitanshi Goyal, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Srivastava, Ravi Kishan and Chhaya Kadam in lead roles. According to a Sacnilk report, the film earned Rs 27.06 crore from the worldwide box office.
Kiran Rao’s dream came true
Last week, Kiran Rao had said in an interview to PTI that it is her dream that her film gets selected for Oscars 2025. She had said, “If it goes to the Oscars, my dream will be fulfilled. But this is a process and I hope that our film ‘Missing Ladies’ will be considered. I am sure that the Film Federation of India will choose the best film for Oscars 2025, no matter under which scheme they choose.”
These films were out of the Oscar race
Let us tell you, films like ‘Stree 2’, ‘Munjya’, ‘Maharaj’, ‘Bhakshak’ and ‘Crew’ were also being considered for Oscar 2025. However, these films will no longer be able to become official entries from India.

The nominations for the 97th Oscars will be announced on January 17, 2025 (Friday). The Oscar 2025 winners will be announced on Sunday, March 2, 2025. The Oscar 2025 show will start at 7 pm (EST).
