MP Sudhir Gupta discussed with Mandsaur, Neemuch and Ratlam collectors to stop the illegal import of Chinese garlic and take appropriate action. He has asked the police, food and drug staff to be vigilant.
MP Gupta said that the surrounding area including Mandsaur parliamentary constituency is leading in garlic production. Large quantities of garlic arrive in the agricultural produce markets, wholesale and retail vegetable markets here. In such a situation, the arrival of substandard Chinese garlic in the market is a matter of great concern. Mandsaur parliamentary constituency is the leader in garlic production in the country. Here, large quantities are exported to all the markets of the country as well as abroad. The arrival of Chinese garlic in the markets will affect agricultural production. Along with that, the business class will also have to suffer losses. The Modi government has constantly encouraged Indian farmers and traders to export Indian garlic to the world. It is due to the strict strategy of the government that India has seen a 245 percent increase in garlic exports, which has reached a record $ 30 million in 2023.
The administration told about the dangers of Chinese garlic
The food department staff of the area, agricultural produce market committees and the police administration should try to seize the substandard garlic, destroy it, get it punished and remove it from the markets or every area of sale and purchase. Publicity should be done so that it does not have any adverse effect on health.
Trust in Indian garlic increased abroad
To increase production of garlic in China, serious crimes like killing humans are being committed by using non-standard chemicals like metal, lead, chlorine.
