Sunita Williams ‘stuck’ in space, got a gift of ‘Mohammad Rafi’ from India on her birthday

Indian-origin astronaut Sunita Williams is currently stuck in space. Tomorrow, on September 19, she will celebrate her 59th birthday in space, 400 kilometers above the earth. Before her birthday, Sunita Williams has received a special gift from India. This gift has been given by the famous music company Saregama. The gift includes a rendition of the famous birthday song ‘Baar Baar Din Ye Aaye’ by the great singer Mohammad Rafi. To celebrate Sunita Williams’ 59th birthday, Saregama has formed a group of musicians, singers and celebrities to send her best wishes.

Saregama shared a post on Instagram and wrote, “Come India, wish Sunita Williams a Happy Birthday with #HappyBirthdaySunita and send our collective wishes to her in space. Post your videos and tag @saregama_official.”

In this video, first of all, film director Karan Johar is seen wishing Sunita Williams a happy birthday. After this, famous singers Sonu Nigam, Shaan, Hariharan and Neeti Mohan congratulate her by singing Mohammad Rafi’s song ‘Baar Baar Din Ye Aaye’. In the post, people have been requested to make their own videos and share them with #HappyBirthdaySunita.

In another post, Saregama also featured veteran actor Jitendra Kapoor, who appeared in the music video of the song, wishing Sunita a happy birthday in his own style with the song. The post reads, “The original star of the film ‘Farz’, Jitendra wishes in his own special way.” In another video, music legends like Shankar Mahadevan, Anup Jalota, Salim Merchant, Ila Arun, Haricharan Sheshadri and Shraddha Pandit also sing ‘Baar Baar Din Ye Aaye’ in their own style to wish Sunita Williams a happy birthday.

Sunita Williams is currently in the International Space Station (ISS). She will celebrate her 59th birthday tomorrow. She reached the ISS in June with Barry Wilmore as part of the first Crew Flight Test (CFT) mission of Boeing’s Starliner capsule. This was Boeing’s first space flight with astronauts through the Starliner capsule. Before reaching the space station on June 6, it faced thruster problems and helium leakage. Due to this, both these pilots of the US space agency NASA will now remain on the ISS till next year.
