After Madhya Pradesh, now in Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur district, the police arrested five youths on Monday for allegedly hoisting the Palestinian flag in their homes on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi. The police took this action on the basis of a complaint. Not only this, the police immediately removed the flags from the homes with the help of some senior citizens of the community.

Police officials said on Tuesday that police arrested Sheikh Sameer (20), Fidel Khan (24), Mohammed Shoaib (23), Sheikh Azim (19) and Sheikh Sameer (22) for allegedly hoisting the Palestinian flag on some houses on the occasion of Eid on Monday in the Tarbahar area of ​​the city.

Police officials said that on Monday evening, the Tarbahar police station received a complaint that Palestine flags were hoisted in some houses near Khudiram Bose Chowk in the area. After receiving the information, the police team reached the spot. With the help of some senior citizens of the community, the police immediately removed the flags from the houses.

Later, on the written complaint of the people of an organization, the police on Tuesday registered a case against five youths under the Indian Judicial Code and arrested them.

Officials said that during the initial interrogation, the arrested youths informed that they had put up Palestine flags to express sympathy towards Palestinians after seeing the stories of alleged atrocities against them on social media. The accused also told that they themselves bought clothes from the market and stitched them to make Palestine flags. Other suspects are being identified in this case and the police is investigating the matter.
