Donald Trump announced this meeting at an event of his election campaign in Flint, Michigan. In this meeting, he was talking about US trade relations with India. However, there is no information about where this meeting will take place. It is worth noting that PM Modi will be on a US tour from 21 to 23 September.

Earlier, the Ministry of External Affairs had released a detailed program of PM Modi’s US visit on Tuesday. According to this, PM Modi will participate in many other programs along with participating in the Quad meeting in America. According to Reuters, the Prime Minister can also meet Trump during this time. During Trump’s presidency from 2017 to 2021, a strong partnership was seen between PM Modi and Trump. During this time, programs like “Howdy Modi” in Houston and “Namaste Trump” in India were also organized which attracted the attention of the whole world.

Strong partnership between Trump and PM Modi

Trump and PM Modi’s relationship played an important role in strengthening US-India relations. The two leaders focused on countering China’s growing influence, especially in defense and strategic matters. Despite trade disputes, their partnership remained strong, which promoted security cooperation through initiatives like the “Quad”.

PM Modi’s visit to America

PM Narendra Modi will attend the fourth Quad Leaders Summit in Wilmington, Delaware, hosted by US President Joe Biden on September 21. The leaders at the Quad Summit will review the progress achieved by the Quad in the past year and set the agenda for the coming year to help countries in the Indo-Pacific region meet their goals, a MEA release said. On September 22, PM Modi will also address a gathering of the Indian community in New York. He will also interact with CEOs of leading US companies to promote greater collaboration between the two countries in cutting-edge areas of AI, quantum computing, semiconductors and biotechnology, the release said.

Will address the UNGA summit

Apart from this, Modi will address the summit at the United Nations General Assembly in New York on September 23. The theme of the summit is ‘Multilateral Solutions for a Better Tomorrow’. A large number of global leaders are expected to participate in the summit. During this time Modi will hold bilateral meetings with many world leaders and discuss issues of mutual interest.
