Attack on journalism and atrocities on journalists cannot be tolerated anymore – Joint Journalist Front


Important decisions were taken in the interest of journalists in the joint meeting of state presidents of all journalist organizations working in Chhattisgarh in the capital. All the organizations will be on one platform on October 2 for Sankalp Mahasabha.

The state presidents of many big journalist organizations of the state held a joint meeting in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh state, on Saturday, September 14, to resolve the issue of continuous harassment of journalists and attacks on journalism. In which state presidents of about 20 journalist organizations and many senior journalists mainly participated in this meeting. The state presidents of all the journalist organizations and senior journalists present expressed deep anger by attacking the government, administration, politicians, mafias regarding the attacks on journalism and the daily false cases against journalists and the deadly attacks on them. The heads of all the associations put forth their views on the collective platform and seriously discussed the solution.

And everyone unanimously agreed to fight a do-or-die battle for the benefit of journalists. As a result, a “Steering Committee” of the officials of all the organizations was formed. Which will always be ready for the benefit of journalists and will jointly take the front in their every fight. After the formation of the joint committee in the meeting, many important topics related to journalists were discussed, which ranged from passing the Journalist Protection Law Bill, Journalist Welfare Fund, health facilities, health and accident insurance, simplification in preference, stopping the advertisements given by the government to help run small and medium newspapers, interest promotion and security and various issues were discussed. The officials of the organizations present shared their views in sequence. This committee will unite with full strength and fight the battle for the interest and justice of journalists. All the journalists showed unity and extended their support for the program to be held on 02 October.

In this episode, on the coming 2nd October, all the journalist associations will show solidarity and jointly raise the voice of the journalists by being present on one platform, a call for Journalism Sankalp Sabha will be given on 2 October 2024, in which journalists associated with organizations from various places across the state will participate in this program in large numbers. In this meeting organized, mainly the convener of the meeting Sudhir Tamboli Azad, Convener of Journalist Security Law United Front Kamal Shukla, State President Beas Pathak and Shivshankar Sonpipre from Chhattisgarh Journalist Union, State President of Indian Journalist Union PC Rath, State President Raj Goswami from Chhattisgarh Active Journalist Association, Executive State President Manoj Singh Baghel, Secretary Manish Kumar Sharma, Rahul Goswami, CG. Journalist Welfare Union’s state president Amit Gautam and vice president Mahesh Acharya, Chhattisgarh Journalist Mahasangh’s state president Sunil Kumar Yadav, Press and Media Welfare Association’s state president Manoj Pandey, vice president Rajendra Gupta, State Working Journalists Union Chhattisgarh’s state general secretary Virendra Kumar Sharma, state vice president Ghanshyam Gupta, Chhattisgarh Journalist Welfare Mahasangh’s state president Sevak Das Diwan, general secretary Praveen Kare, working committee member Dinesh Namdev, Chhattisgarhia Journalist Mahasangh’s state general secretary Mohammed Samim, All India Journalist Security Committee’s Mohammed Nazir, Ajit Sharma, Pawan Singh Thakur, Dinesh Kumar, Ramesh Kumar, senior journalist Ajit Kumar Singh and many other journalist colleagues were present.
