Governor Shri Mangubhai Patel and Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will launch the operation of Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras in all district hospitals on the first day of Swachhata Hi Seva Pakhwada 2024 starting from September 17. This step is an important effort to provide affordable and quality generic medicines to the citizens of the state. The launch of Jan Aushadhi Kendra in hospitals is a big step towards improving access to health services.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Rajendra Shukla, Urban Development and Housing Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri Prahlad Patel, Minister of State for Public Health and Medical Shri Narendra Shivaji Patel, Minister of State for Urban Development and Housing Smt. Pratima Bagri, Minister of State for Panchayat and Rural Development Smt. Radha Singh will be specially present in the function to be organized at 10 am in Kushabhau Thackeray International Convention Center in the capital Bhopal.
The Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra Project was launched in the year 2008 with the aim of providing affordable and quality generic medicines. This scheme gained more momentum since the year 2015. Its aim was to widen the reach of affordable medicines across the country. Currently, Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras are being opened in the country under this project, so that people in both rural and urban areas can avail the benefits of affordable generic medicines.
At present, more than 500 Jan Aushadhi Kendras are functioning in Madhya Pradesh, which are operating in various districts of the state. These centers have been established in both urban and rural areas, so that the availability of affordable medicines can be ensured to all citizens. Thousands of people are buying affordable and quality medicines through these centers every day. There is a huge saving in their monthly medical expenses. Now Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras are being opened in all district hospitals as well.
Benefits of Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendra
The main objective is to make quality generic medicines available to everyone at affordable rates. Patients will get medicines at 50% to 90% less price than branded medicines.
Rural and urban families will get cheap medicines. There will be huge savings in monthly medical expenses. It will be especially beneficial for economically weaker families.
Affordable and accessible medicines will enable people to continue their treatment, improving health outcomes. This centre will play an important role especially in the management of chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and heart disease.
Through the Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendra, awareness about the quality and effectiveness of generic medicines will increase, due to which people will reduce their dependence on branded medicines and adopt affordable generic medicines.
Employment opportunities will also be generated at the local level. Pharmacists and other staff will be required to run each centre, which will create new employment opportunities in the state.
Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendra is an important step towards providing affordable and accessible health services in the state. This center will play an important role in fulfilling the medical needs of the citizens of the state by providing them affordable and quality medicines.
Grihapravesh of 51 thousand Pradhan Mantri Awas
On the first day of Swachhata Hi Seva Pakhwada 2024, at 10:30 am, there will be a Griha Pravesh program for 4 lakh houses in the country under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) at this very place. Out of these, Griha Pravesh will be held in 51 thousand houses of Madhya Pradesh. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Urban 2-0 will be launched and PRAISE awards will be distributed under PM Swanidhi. Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya will be the chief guest in this program. Minister of State for Urban Development and Housing Smt. Pratima Bagri will preside. Mayor of Bhopal Municipal Corporation Smt. Malti Rai, Council President of Municipal Corporation Bhopal Shri Kishan Suryavanshi will be specially present.
