Punjab-Haryana border sealed, people are getting troubled

Kaithal
The Haryana-Punjab border has been sealed in view of the proposed Mahapanchayat of farmers in Uchana on Sunday amid the Haryana assembly elections. This is causing a lot of problems to the people crossing the border of the neighboring states. They say that the administration has done the barricading in such a way that even pedestrians are facing problems.

People in the border district of Kaithal say that no guidelines have been issued by the administration regarding barricading. There is no official from the administration here who can tell people about this. The elderly and children are getting troubled due to the barricading. One person said that he had to go to Patiala to get medicines. But, due to the barricading, he will have to travel several kilometers, which is causing a lot of trouble.

Let us tell you that a Mahapanchayat of farmers was to be held in Uchana today. The police have sealed the Kaithal state highway border of Haryana and Patiala state highway border of Punjab by installing concrete barricades. Farmer leader Abhimanyu Kohad posted a video on Twitter. In the video, Kohad has said that on July 22, he had announced that there would be two national level Mahapanchayats of farmers in Haryana.

A mahapanchayat was to be held on September 15 at the new grain market in Uchana. He said, the preparations were almost complete. A large number of farmers from all districts of Haryana are arriving to attend the mahapanchayat. Farmers are coming from all over the country including Punjab. Meanwhile, this morning Haryana Police gave us a notice stating that we cannot hold the panchayat. Permission for this has not been obtained in advance.

Kohad said that the code of conduct is imposed for politicians. The market belongs to the farmers and the farmers can hold a mahapanchayat here. He has warned the administration that if anyone is stopped from attending the mahapanchayat, then be ready to face the consequences.
