PM Modi will flag off 12 new Vande Bharat Express today, will also gift the country its first Vande Metro


Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off a dozen Vande Bharat trains including the country’s first ‘Vande Metro’ during a three-day program in Jharkhand, Gujarat and Odisha from Sunday. Among these, Vande Bharat running between New Delhi-Varanasi will have 20 coaches. While Vande Metro will start operating between Bhuj-Ahmedabad from Monday. Varanasi will be connected to Agra and Baidyanath Dham (Deoghar) by Vande Bharat.

Railway Board officials said that Prime Minister Modi’s programs are in Jharkhand, Gujarat and Odisha between 15 and 17 September. On Sunday, the Prime Minister will flag off the Tatanagar-Patna (via Bokaro, Koderma) Vande Bharat train directly and the remaining five trains through video conferencing at Tatanagar Railway Junction in Jharkhand. The remaining five Vande Bharat trains will run between Bhagalpur-Howrah (via Dumka), Brahmapur – Tatanagar, Gaya-Howrah, Vaighnath Dham-Varanasi (via Gaya, Nawada, Sasaram) and Rourkela-Howrah.

On Monday, Modi will flag off the country’s first Vande Metro between Bhuj-Ahmedabad in Gujarat, as well as Vande Bharat trains running between Nagpur-Secunderabad, Agra Cantt-Banaras (via Tudla, Etawah, Kanpur, Prayagraj), Raipur-Visakhapatnam, Pune-Hubli, Varanasi-New Delhi (via Lucknow, Prayagraj). The official said that the semi-high speed Vande Bharat train will improve rail connectivity between pilgrimage sites and tourist places. This will promote pilgrimage and tourism, as well as make the journey of rail passengers easier.

Vande Metro train unreserved and air-conditioned An official said on Saturday that the Ahmedabad-Bhuj Vande Metro train is completely unreserved and air-conditioned. He said that passengers will be able to buy tickets from the counter shortly before the departure of the train. He said, the train has seating capacity for 1,150 passengers while 2,058 passengers will be able to travel standing.

PM will inaugurate projects in Jharkhand

The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate various railway projects worth over Rs 660 crore in Jharkhand. He will lay the foundation stone of Madhupur Bypass Line and Hazaribagh Town Coaching Depot in Deoghar district of Jharkhand. The Madhupur Bypass Line will help avoid delays of trains on the Howrah-Delhi main line and also help reduce travel time between Giridih and Jasidih. Modi will also dedicate four Road Under Bridges (RUBs) to the nation.
