Food and Civil Supplies Minister Shri Govind Singh Rajput has said that the implementation of portability in the public distribution system has provided convenience to the consumers taking ration from fair price shops. Now eligible consumers can take ration from any fair price shop as per their convenience on the basis of biometric verification. This facility is available in the state as well as in other states.
Minister Shri Singh has said that if the POS machine is not working or the shop is closed, the beneficiary can get ration from any other shop. There is no need to change the shop even if the residence changes. This will improve the services through positive competition among the fair price shopkeepers. Shopkeepers who do not open the shop on time or commit irregularities in ration distribution will automatically be out of this system.
