All-rounder Tilak Verma, batsman Abhimanyu Easwaran and Pratham Singh rocked the Duleep Trophy 2024 on Saturday. All three scored centuries on the third day of the second round of the Duleep Trophy. Tilak, who is part of India A in the tournament, tore apart the India D bowlers in the second innings. He completed his century in 177 balls after coming in at number three. He hit 9 fours during this period. This is Tilak’s fifth century in his first-class career. Tilak will get a lot of confidence ahead of a busy domestic schedule. He has played four ODIs and 16 T20 Internationals for India.
At the same time, before Tilak, opener Pratham Singh scored a century for India A on the third day. This left-handed batsman of Railways played an innings of 122 runs in 189 balls with the help of 12 fours and a six at Anantapur Cricket Ground. 32-year-old Pratham has scored a century for the first time in Duleep Trophy. Pratham was caught by Shreyas Iyer off Saurabh Kumar in the 60th over. He shared a 104-run partnership with Tilak for the second wicket. Pratham scored 7 runs in the first innings while Tilak scored 10 runs. Pratham made his domestic cricket debut in 2017. He has scored more than 1000 runs in all three formats for Railways.
On the other hand, India B captain and opening batsman Abhimanyu Easwaran batted brilliantly in the first innings against India C. He scored a century in difficult conditions. He is unbeaten on 119 runs despite the game being played for 79 overs. He has scored his 24th century in first class cricket. Let us tell you that India C scored a huge score of 525 in the first innings. Easwaran gave his team a good start. He shared a 129-run partnership for the first wicket with N Jagadeesan (70). After this, Mushir Khan (0), Sarfaraz Khan (16) and Rinku Singh (6) could not do anything special.
