On whose orders were bullets fired on the protesting farmers in Mandsaur on June 6, 2017? The answer to this question remains a mystery even seven years after the firing incident. Public interest litigations have been filed twice before the Indore bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court regarding the firing incident.

In the first PIL, the government itself had told the court that as soon as the report was received, it would be tabled in the Legislative Assembly within six months. Despite this, when nothing happened, a PIL was filed for the second time.

It was to be argued on Friday, but the court postponed it till October with the order to hear it before a regular bench. A one-member commission headed by retired Justice JK Jain was constituted to investigate the matter. The commission submitted its report to the government on 13 June 2018, but this report has not been made public till now.

In the petition filed by former MLA Paras Saklecha through Advocate Pratyush Mishra, a demand has been made to make this investigation report public so that the general public can know due to whose negligence the Mandsaur firing incident took place.
