Higher Education, Technical Education and AYUSH Minister Inder Singh Parmar has said that providing employment-oriented and quality education to the students is our priority, for this, there is a need to create a curriculum as per the requirement of the industry, so that the students can get ample employment opportunities. Apart from jobs, students should also get the ability to get self-employment, so that they can become self-reliant. Minister Parmar was addressing a one-day workshop in the context of “All India Higher Education Survey 2023-24” in the auditorium of MP Private University Regulatory Commission, Bhopal on Thursday.
Minister Parmar said that the participation of private universities is necessary and important in making the educational and academic environment of the state excellent. There is a need to ensure the participation of all universities to gradually increase the “Gross Enrollment Ratio” in the All India Higher Education Annual Survey. Minister Parmar expressed concern over the tendency of students not taking admission in higher education after passing 12th class. Parmar said that special efforts should be made to increase the enrollment ratio in higher education. Work should be done in a planned manner to resolve the decrease in the enrollment ratio of tribals and girl students.
Minister Parmar said that all private universities should try to provide Indian traditional education and society-based education to the students. He said that it should be ensured that universities participate in society-based education, so that students can develop holistically. In the context of National Education Policy-2020, Parmar asked to establish “Indian Knowledge Tradition Cell” in all universities for Indian knowledge tradition inclusive education. Parmar said that all higher educational institutions should provide quality education and strictly follow the academic calendar and ensure admission, examination and results of students within the stipulated time period.
Principal Secretary Higher Education Anupam Rajan said that all private universities should pay special attention to providing quality education so that there can be gradual improvement and quality increase in higher education in the private sector. Prof. Bharat Sharan Singh, Chairman of MP Private University Regulatory Commission, said that data of private universities is being collected through MP Online portal from the session 2023-24. This will speed up the scholarship process and other administrative work.
On this occasion, State Nodal Officer of MP AISHE Dr. Sunil Singh, officers of the Commission, departmental officers and Vice Chancellors of 53 different private universities, Nodal Officers and their technical associates were present. Secretary of the Commission Dr. K.P. Sahu expressed his gratitude.
