Yuzvendra Chahal took five wickets in county cricket

Northampton
India’s experienced leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal took five wickets for 45 runs for Northamptonshire against Derbyshire in the Division Two match of the English County Championship. India’s limited overs specialist bowler completed 100 wickets in first-class cricket during this period. Chahal has taken five wickets in first-class cricket for the third time.

This season of county cricket has been great for Chahal. This leg spinner took five wickets for 14 runs against Kent in the One Day Cup last month. After scoring 219 runs in the first innings of the current match, Northamptonshire bowled out Derbyshire for 165 runs in 61.3 overs with the brilliant bowling of Chahal and Rob Keogh (three wickets for 65 runs). Chahal took the wickets of Wayne Madsen, Aneurin Donald, Jack Chappell, Alex Thomson and Jack Morley during this period.

Chahal’s teammate Prithvi Shaw’s poor performance continues in this county season. He scored four and two runs in both innings of the match. Shaw has also failed to cross the 50 mark in his last three first-class innings.
