Ratlam
Ratlam SP Rahul Kumar Lodha has been transferred on Tuesday night. Ratlam Lodha has been removed from Ratlam and sent to Rail Indore. Narsinghpur SP Amit Kumar has been made the new SP of Ratlam. The transfer order issued from Bhopal at midnight created a stir in the police department.
The new SP is an officer of the 2016 batch. The reason for removing the Ratlam SP is said to be the one-sided action taken after stone pelting during the Ganesh idol procession in Ratlam on Saturday night. Due to the allegations of stone pelting, the police could not take any concrete action. The police also denied the incident of stone pelting. On Tuesday night at around 8 pm, the Sarva Hindu Samaj Pratinidhi Mandal demanded an impartial inquiry into the action taken by the police from Collector Rajesh Batham.
There was resentment in the entire Hindu society regarding the action
There was resentment against the police administration in the Hindu society due to the lack of a fair investigation into the stone pelting incident during the Ganesh idol procession. People associated with the Hindu organization have also been accused of brutally being beaten up by the police. The office bearers of the organization met Ratlam Collector Rajesh Batham on Tuesday evening regarding this issue. The one-sided action and lathicharge by the police was opposed. The police was accused of misleading by calling the actual incident a rumour. The Hindu organization gave an ultimatum of 24 hours and warned that if the investigation and action against the guilty police officials is not done within the stipulated time, then they will take to the streets and register their protest against the police.
These were the main demands in the memorandum
Last night, the officials had also submitted a memorandum to the collector. In which it was told that on 7th September, when the procession of the idol of Shri Ganesh ji was going out from Mochipura area, the Muslim community threw stones at the idol at around 7 to 8 pm. People involved in the procession reached the police station on Station Road to complain about the matter. The case was not registered there by the station in-charge Dinesh Bhojak. They kept on giving explanations, but a large number of Hindu community gathered at the police station in protest. After that, seeing the growing anger, a case was registered against unknown persons under ordinary sections.
After this, at around 11 o’clock, the Hindu community gathered at the police station was going to the Ganesh Pandal located on Unkala Road on the orders of the police station in-charge and ASP. Then the police surrounded them in the Hathi Khana area and beat them inhumanly and brutally with feet and sticks. Due to which many people were injured. Evidence of which is available. After this, the general public verbally opposed the lathi charge. Everyone started moving towards the Ganesh Pandal via Mochipura. After this, the police stopped them unconstitutionally at Mochipura intersection. During this, the Muslim community pelted stones. Due to which there was a stampede in the Hindu community. Some people proceeded towards the pandal and the rest of the community were brutally lathi charged. Apart from this, the mothers and sisters were brutally dragged by the police after reaching the pandal.
