In Bilaspur district of Chhattisgarh, pictures that bring shame to the temple of education have surfaced. In a government school here, girl students drank beer during a birthday party in the class, after the photos and videos of which went viral on social media, there has been an uproar. In these photos and videos, the girl students are seen celebrating the birthday, during which disposable glasses, cold drinks and beer bottles are also seen kept there along with samosas, cakes and snacks. Education officials have started an investigation in this matter.
The official said that the alleged video is from Government Higher Secondary School in Bhatchaura village of Masturi area, which was shot on July 29. A student’s birthday was celebrated there that day. The videos and photos made during this went viral after being shared on social media platform Instagram recently. Giving information about this, Bilaspur District Education Officer (DEO) TR Sahu said that in the video that went viral on social media, girls can be seen drinking beer and soft drinks. He said that a three-member committee has been constituted to investigate the alleged incident, and the team recorded the statements of the concerned students and teachers on Monday. The official said, ‘Action will be taken against the principal and the head of the institution to ensure that such incidents do not happen again in the school. Apart from this, notices will be sent to the parents of the girls involved.’ According to official sources, some girls celebrated their friend’s birthday inside a class on July 29 and allegedly drank beer during the party. Later, a student shared the video and photos on social media, which went viral and created an uproar. However, the girls have denied drinking beer. Sahu said that the students told the investigation team that they had waved beer bottles for fun while making the video, but they had not consumed beer.
