Indian Railways has accepted the resignation of Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia. After which the way has been cleared for Vinesh to contest the elections. Congress has fielded Vinesh Phogat from Julana seat in the Haryana Assembly elections. According to the rules of the Election Commission, Vinesh Phogat could not contest the elections until her resignation was approved by the Railways and she was given an NOC (No Objection Certificate). Now the Railways has accepted her resignation, which has given her a big relief.
Both wrestlers have resigned from their jobs
For the Haryana assembly elections, the Congress party has included two famous wrestlers, Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia, in its party. These wrestlers had earlier resigned from their railway jobs immediately. After this, the railway had issued them a show cause notice. Now the railway has accepted their resignation, which has given them a big relief. According to the rules of the Election Commission, until Vinesh Phogat’s resignation is accepted by the railway and she is not given NOC, she cannot contest the elections. Northern Railway had issued a show cause notice because in the records of the railway, she was still a government employee. But now her resignation has been accepted, so that she can participate in the elections.
Vinesh Phogat gets ticket from Julana
Congress has released its list of candidates for the Haryana assembly elections. In this list, Vinesh Phogat has been given a ticket from Julana assembly seat. On the other hand, Bajrang Punia will not contest the elections. He has been made the president of the Bharatiya Kisan Congress. After the Railways accepted the resignation, the way for Vinesh Phogat to contest the elections is now clear.
Reason of Resignation
Vinesh Phogat had stated in her resignation sent to the Railways that she is working as OSD/Sports under Level-7 of Railways. She also mentioned that due to family and personal reasons, she is unable to perform her duties properly. Her resignation has been accepted by the Railways, after which she can now fully become active in electoral politics. Earlier, the process of contesting elections could not be completed until the resignation was accepted and NOC (No Objection Certificate) was not obtained. Now Vinesh Phogat has been allowed to fully participate in electoral politics.
