Astronaut Sunita Williams, who has been stuck in space for several days, will soon face the world. Yes, Sunita Williams and her fellow astronaut Butch Wilmore will talk publicly on September 13. Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore, who have been on the International Space Station (ISS) since June 5, will attend a news conference for the first time after Starliner returned on August 24. In this press conference, both the astronauts will talk through ‘Earth to Space Call’.
Sunita and Butch’s return was repeatedly postponed due to technical faults in the Starliner spacecraft. Finally, NASA announced that they would return in February 2025 on SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft under the Crew 9 mission. Meanwhile, Starliner landed safely at White Sand Space Harbor in New Mexico at 9:30 am on Saturday morning Indian time.
This will be the first time after the return of Starliner that Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore will share their space experience. It is believed that they will talk about the increase in mission time, challenges and opportunities. Along with this, they will also give information about the scientific research going on on the ISS, the orbit laboratory and the lifestyle there.
The space mission of Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore has now increased from an 8-day flight test to an 8-month one. Maintenance and research work continues on the space station, which is why NASA has to send its astronauts there from time to time. The turn of these astronauts comes through rotation. Currently, the crew of Expedition-71 is working on the space station, which includes Sunita Williams and Wilmore. They have now become full-time station crew members. Under the Crew 9 mission, Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore will complete many tasks, including many technical tasks including spacewalks and robotics.
