Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been continuously advocating a peaceful solution to the ongoing tension between Russia and Ukraine. He has reiterated on many occasions that India is ready to take every initiative necessary for this. Not only PM Modi, Russia and Ukraine also believe that India can end this war diplomatically. Zelensky had recently reiterated this. The PM visited both the countries at different times. Now the news is coming that India’s National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval will visit Moscow to discuss a peaceful solution to the Russia war.
CNN News-18 has reported about Doval’s visit in one of its reports. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been at the forefront of peace efforts by visiting both the countries. During his visit to Russia in July, PM Modi reiterated his message to President Vladimir Putin that “this is not the era of war”. Recently he visited Kiev and met President Volodymyr Zelensky, in which he reaffirmed India’s commitment to peace.
PM Modi also had a telephonic conversation with President Putin on August 27. Sources said that during this call, the two leaders discussed that India will send its NSA to Moscow to discuss ideas to bring lasting peace in Ukraine.
It is noteworthy that President Putin had recently said that he is not against peace. He sees Brazil, China and India as potential mediators to end the conflict. Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni had also said the same thing. She had supported India as a potential negotiator.
After his visits to Russia and Ukraine, PM Modi also held a telephonic conversation with US President Joe Biden, discussing peace efforts in Ukraine.
