The car of Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Punjab’s Jalalabad Goldy Kamboj met with an accident in Bathinda. An Innova car hit his car from behind. Thankfully, he did not get any injuries in this accident and he is completely safe. Immediately after getting information about the accident, apart from the Road Safety Force, Bathinda Police also reached the spot. Investigation of the accident has been started. The police is questioning the accused car driver.
The accident happened on Bathinda-Malout road, when MLA Kamboj was going from Bathinda to Malout in a government Innova car with his security personnel. He was going to attend the Kisan Mela organized in Malout. When he reached Malout road from Bathinda, a speeding Innova car with Rajasthan number plate coming from the other side tried to overtake the MLA’s car. In this attempt, the Innova car hit the MLA’s vehicle from behind. After the collision, the MLA’s car collided with the pilot car of his security personnel which was going ahead of it. Due to this, apart from the MLA and the pilot car, the third Innova car was badly damaged.
The Innova car lost control and hit the pole
During this, the Innova car which hit the vehicle lost control and collided with a pole. The accident was so severe that all the three vehicles were badly damaged. There was no loss of life during the accident. MLA Goldy said that the cause of the accident was the Innova car coming from behind at a high speed. The Innova tried to overtake his vehicle and turn it, after which it hit his vehicles and collided with the street light pole on the road divider. He and his security personnel are safe in the accident.
Defeated Sukhbir Badal by 30 thousand votes
Sukhbir Singh Badal was defeated by Jagdeep Kamboj Goldy by more than 30 thousand votes from Jalalabad seat, which is considered the stronghold of Akali Dal. Sukhbir Badal won this seat in 2017, while Sher Singh from Akali Dal won in 2007 and Sukhbir Singh Badal was elected MLA in 2012 as well. Shiromani Akali Dal had occupied this seat for a long time.
Father contested election from BSP
In April last year, Jalalabad MLA Jagdeep Kamboj Goldy’s father was arrested on corruption charges. His father Surinder Kamboj was accused of demanding Rs 10 lakh. Then after his father’s arrest, he said that action will be taken against anyone who does wrong. MLA Kamboj does not talk to his father, he lives separately from the family. After this, in the recently held Lok Sabha elections, Bahujan Samaj Party made Aam Aadmi Party MLA’s father Surinder Kamboj a candidate from Ferozepur Lok Sabha seat, but he lost the election.
