Karan Johar got angry with a comment, did not give me a role after Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham; Himani Shivpuri told

Himani Shivpuri has been working in Hindi cinema for 40 years. She has worked in many films and her sweet smile and cute style are still very much liked by the fans. Himani has appeared in Karan Johar’s films Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham. Her character has been liked in both the films. Himani has now told why she did not work in any of Karan’s films after Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham.

Worked in Karan’s films

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Himani said that she got a cute role in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and then in Kabhi Khushi Gham, but then during the casting of Kal Ho Na Ho, she realized that she might have hit a nail on the head with her words. The actress said, ‘During the last scene of Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Karan came to me and said, it was really nice working with you, Himani ji. You are lucky for me. I said, please Karan, give me a good role from next time. He said, Himani ji, I will definitely give it.’ After this, Nikhil Advani met her at a screening and said that Kal Ho Na Ho is about to release and he wants me to work in this film.

I had told Karan something

Himani said, ‘I then asked Yash Johar, who was standing there at that time, to give me the signing amount, so he gave me a dollar. I asked my secretary to meet Nikhil because we had talked. So the secretary told me that he has said that Himani does not have any role. After this, many more Dharma films came, but I was not called, so I kept wondering what happened.’

Did Karan get angry?

Himani then met Karan Johar at an award show and he asked her why she was not cast in Kal Ho Na Ho. Karan said, no Himani ji, that role was not suitable for you, that is why you were not called. Then it came to my mind that maybe my point was understood. I feel the same, I don’t know, but that chapter ended there again. I felt bad.
