A new railway line is being started between Indore and Manmad. This will bring investments worth thousands of crores in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnavi said this during a virtual conversation with journalists in Indore. During this, many senior BJP leaders including Chief Minister Mohan Yadav were present at the Brilliant Convention Center. CM Mohan Yadav said that this is not a railway, but a development line for the tribals. Due to the absence of a railway track, a large number of tribals have migrated from here since independence. This will stop. He said that this is the route connecting Trimbakeshwar to Mahakaleshwar. This will provide a big market for millets from mining, onions from Nashik, potatoes from Malwa. Logistics hub will also be developed.

Railway warehouses will be built at four places. Two railway warehouses will be built at Kalod near Indore and Gyaspurkhedi in Dhar district, while two will be built at New Dhule and Malegaon in Maharashtra. This track can also be used as a freight corridor. Trains will run at a speed of 160 kilometers per hour on the new railway line being laid between Indore and Manmad. It is in line with the vision of New India, which will make people “self-reliant” along with the comprehensive development of the region. This project is the result of PM-Gati Shakti National Master Plan for Multi-Modal Connectivity, which has been made possible through integrated planning and will provide seamless connectivity for the movement of people, goods and services. The project will provide direct connectivity to Pithampur auto cluster (90 large units and 700 small and medium industries) with JNPA’s Gateway Port and other state ports. The project will also provide direct connectivity to millet producing districts of Madhya Pradesh and onion producing districts of Maharashtra, facilitating its distribution in the northern and southern parts of the country.
Agriculture and industry will also benefit
It is an essential route for transportation of agricultural products, fertilizers, containers, iron ore, steel, cement, POL.
