According to the new instructions issued by the Government of India regarding the food grains to be distributed under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, now the time limit for distribution of ration material to eligible families has been fixed from 1st to 31st of every month. Food, Civil and Consumer Protection Minister Govind Singh Rajput has said that now the ration material of the month will be available in the same month. It will not be carry forward. It has been started from the month of August. In the month of August, ration material was distributed to one crore 17 lakh 53 thousand eligible families. In the ration material allocation of July, carry forward ration was also distributed to about 7 lakh 96 thousand families from 1st to 15th August. Along with this, ration of the month of August was also distributed to these families.
One Nation-One Ration Card
Minister Rajput has informed that in the month of August, under ‘One Nation-One Ration Card’, ration was received by 3644 families from other states in Madhya Pradesh and 34 thousand 667 families of the state in other states and 14 lakh 38 thousand 630 families through inter-district portability. This is more than the month of July.
Process of distribution of ration to eligible families in August
To distribute ration to eligible families within the time limit, a meeting of the officials of the concerned departments was held at the state level under the chairmanship of Principal Secretary Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Smt. Rashmi Arun Shami, and a well-planned action plan for ration supply and distribution was prepared and ration material was distributed. As per the allocation of the month of August 2024, in the districts where the availability of ration material was less, about 25 thousand 600 MT of wheat and rice was transported from other districts and stored at the supply centers. Ration material was distributed to elderly consumers by visiting their homes. Divyang Prahlad in village Kharsod Khurd, who lives 5 km away from the village, was distributed ration material by visiting his residence on August 31 and e-KYC was done.
Transportation to 27,826 shops through Chief Minister’s Yuva Annadoot Yojana
For the allocation of the month of August, 1.12 lakh MT wheat, 1.69 lakh MT rice, 0.10 lakh MT salt and 0.12 lakh MT sugar were transported from 252 supply centres of the state to 27 thousand 826 fair price shops through transporters of ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Annadoot’ scheme. Monitoring done at state level
The monitoring of the supply of ration material at fair price shops and distribution to eligible families was done twice a week through video conference at the state level. The supply and distribution of ration material was done even on government holidays. District-wise officers were deputed at the level of Directorate of Food Bhopal to review the lifting and distribution of ration material.
The names of those who have not taken ration for 6 months have been pasted
A list of names of around 1 lakh 74 thousand families, who had not been receiving ration regularly for the last 6 months, was pasted at the fair price shops so that they could get ration in the month of August. SMS were sent from the state level to 13 lakh 33 thousand 470 eligible families, who were not receiving ration from the fair price shops till 25th August, to get the ration. Complaints received on the telephone number of the control room set up at the state level- 0755-2551475, were also resolved promptly. Publicity was done to make the eligible families receive ration items in the month of August itself.
Benefits of this ration distribution system
Food Minister Rajput told that through this ration distribution system, eligible families received ration in the allotted month of August itself. There was no need to wait for the next month to get ration. Due to stoppage of ration distribution in the next month (carry forward), irregularities in ration distribution from fair price shops (giving material for 1 month instead of 2 months) have been stopped. Monthly payment of subsidy amount on the quantity of ration material distributed to Madhya Pradesh State Civil Supplies Corporation (MPSCSC) by Government of India will be made. Distribution of ration material in the allotted month will facilitate storage of ration material of the next month at fair price shops.
