Jas Athwal, the newly elected MP of Indian origin in UK, has been surrounded by controversy. The condition of many of his rented houses is very bad. According to information, Athwal is the MP who has the most property. He has 15 such properties which are on rent. He has seven flats in Ilford South which are on rent. Here the tenants complain that poisonous powder keeps falling from the ceiling. In such a situation, they have to clean the ceiling regularly.
The ants in the flat have made it difficult for people to live there. A tenant said that when his small children sleep, the ants start crawling on them. Other tenants say that the condition of the flat is so bad that they may have to vacate it soon. They said, there are ants everywhere here.
Athwal has expressed concern over this matter and has assured to resolve it soon. Andrew Boff, a Conservative member of the London Assembly, has asked the Labor Party to investigate the matter. He said that the Labor Party had promised to reform the rental market in the 2024 elections. At the same time, the party’s own MPs are making a big mess in this matter. He said, I am very worried about this.
He said, I am worried that the tenants of Atwal are scared and are afraid of becoming homeless. Such incidents often come to light that due to lack of maintenance and upkeep of their houses, tenants have to become homeless.
