Raipur

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai Government has launched a major initiative to promote education and skill development in Naxal-affected and tribal areas. Here, in collaboration with Magic Bus India Foundation, the government has signed a three-year contract to run an integrated curriculum of skill education in government schools across the state.

This initiative is in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and National Curriculum Framework (NCF) 2023, which aim to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge. For skill development of children in tribal areas, the government has launched the “Niyad Nellanaar Yojana”. Which means “Your Good Village” in Hindi.

Under this scheme, basic facilities like education and health are being provided to the tribals. Under this scheme, all kinds of facilities are being provided in the villages within a radius of five kilometres by setting up camps in Naxal-affected areas.

This is how the skill development program will run
The School Education Department has tied up with Magic Bus India Foundation for skill development of children. Under the agreement, skill education will be implemented in 800 government schools in the first two academic years. During this period, 1,600 teachers will receive training to impart skills and life skills education to 40,000 students of classes VI to X.

The program will initially start in Kanker and Kondagaon. Later there is a plan to expand it to all 33 districts of the state. Jayant Rastogi, CEO of Magic Bus India Foundation, has made plans with the government regarding skill education for the empowerment and development of adolescents.

CM Sai has ordered that primary education should be provided to tribal children in their mother tongue to maintain their cultural identity and improve educational quality. In such a situation, local teachers who know the mother tongue will be given priority.
