Chhattisgarh government declared public holiday on Rakshabandhan festival

As per the notification issued by the General Administration Department of Chhattisgarh Government, Ministry located in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, 19th August has been declared a public holiday on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.

It is worth mentioning here that the state government had earlier declared a general holiday in the state of Chhattisgarh on the occasion of ‘Rakshabandhan’ festival on Monday, 19 August 2024. According to the new notification, now on Rakshabandhan festival on Monday, 19 August, there will be a public holiday in Chhattisgarh under the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.

This notification has been issued by the General Administration Department making partial amendment in the notification issued on 11 October 2023.

Banks are also closed for these 6 days
After 15th August, Raksha Bandhan will be celebrated on 17th August (Saturday), 18th August (Sunday) and 19th August (Monday). Then there will be holiday in government offices on 24th August (Saturday), 25th August (Sunday) and 26th August (Krishna Janmashtami).
