Centre grants approval for final survey of two new railway line projects


Approval has been given for the final survey and DPR preparation of two new railway line projects in Chhattisgarh. The first of these will be the extension of the new railway line from Korba to Ambikapur and the second from Gadchiroli-Bijapur to Bacheli. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for getting the approval from the central government. Chief Minister Sai has said that this will further strengthen the railway infrastructure of Chhattisgarh.

Amount fixed for survey
According to the Railway Ministry, the process of final survey and DPR preparation has started for two new railway line projects of 670 km length costing Rs 16 crore 75 lakh under South East Central Railway. The approval of the survey of the new 490 km railway line from Gadchiroli to Bijapur via Bacheli is going to increase the pace of inclusive development of Bastar manifold. The Railway Ministry has sanctioned Rs 12 crore 25 lakh for its survey.

With this, people of remote areas of Bastar will be directly connected to the city through rail route for higher education, employment, better health and sale of their products. The entire Bastar region will touch higher dimensions of development. At the same time, the approval of the survey of 180 km new railway line from Korba to Ambikapur is going to increase the pace of inclusive development of Korba and Surguja manifold. The Railway Ministry has approved Rs 4 crore 50 lakh for its survey.

There will be a revolutionary change: Sai
Chief Minister Sai has said that the approval of these two surveys will bring revolutionary changes in the field of rail facilities in the state, which will pave the way for unprecedented development in all areas including railways in Bastar and Surguja divisions. Along with this, these will create new employment opportunities for thousands and lakhs of people.
