Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla hoisted the flag at the Independence Day function in Sagar and took the salute of the parade. He read out the message of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav to the people of the state. Deputy Chief Minister Shukla honoured freedom fighter Tarachand Jain and democracy fighter Advocate Krishna Veer Singh Thakur with shawl, coconut and garland.
Attractive cultural presentations were given by the students of Government Higher Secondary School, Utkrishta Vidyalaya, CM Rise Higher Secondary School Sagar, St. Mary’s Convent School and Little Star Memorial School. An amazing performance of Mallakhamb was given by the players of Sports Youth Welfare Department. An attractive march past was done by JNPA, District Police Force, Police Training Force Makronia, Home Guard Sagar, District Police Force Mahila Sagar, 11 MP Battalion NCC Boys, 7 MP Battalion Girls, Shaurya Dal Sagar and Police Band Platoon.
Deputy Chief Minister Shukla honoured the officers and employees who performed excellent work by giving them certificates. He rewarded the students who gave cultural presentation and the groups who secured first, second and third positions in the march past.
