Chhattisgarh’s Labor Minister gave a gift on the occasion of Rakshabandhan festival, gave Rs 14.47 crore to construction workers

As per the wishes of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, Labor Minister Shri Lakhan Lal Devangan has given a gift of more than 14 crore 47 lakh rupees to more than 33 thousand construction workers of the state and their families on the occasion of Rakshabandhan festival. This amount will be provided through DBT under various schemes run by the Labor Department for the welfare of workers and their families. The Labor Minister also approved Rs 14 crore 47 lakh 44 thousand 709 for the beneficiaries of workers’ families under various departmental schemes.

It is worth mentioning here that for the welfare of construction workers and their families, the Labour Department directly benefits them under various schemes like Chief Minister Shramik Sahayata Yojana, Chief Minister Construction Worker Death and Disabled Sahayata, Minimata Mahtari Jatan Yojana, Noni Empowerment Scheme, Scholarship, Uniform, Book, Copy, Assistance Scheme for Children of Construction Workers, Chief Minister Noni Babu Education Assistance Scheme, Didi E-Rickshaw Assistance Scheme, Housing Assistance Scheme and other schemes. 885 workers have been benefited under various schemes run for construction workers by Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board under the Labour Department, such as Chief Minister Noni Empowerment Scheme. Similarly, under Naunihal Scholarship Scheme 9354, Chief Minister Death and Disabled Assistance Scheme 50, Minimata Mahtari Jatan Scheme 975, Chief Minister Senior Citizen Assistance Scheme 71, Chief Minister Construction Workers Housing Scheme 114, Noni Babu Meritorious Student Education Promotion Scheme 36, and under the Chief Minister’s Assistance Scheme for Free Uniform and Books and Copies for the Children of Construction Workers 18028 students, under other schemes, a total of Rs 14 crore 47 rupees has been approved to benefit 33873 construction workers and their children under the schemes by transferring the amount directly into their accounts through online. Labour department officials informed that under various schemes of Chhattisgarh Building Construction and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, the number of eligible workers for Gariaband district is 17, approved amount is Rs 24 lakh, number of workers in Dhamtari district is 33, approved amount is Rs 04 crore 84 lakh 29 thousand, number of workers in Mahasamund district is 2767, approved amount is Rs 04 crore 30 lakh 07 thousand, number of workers in Mungeli district is 276, approved amount is Rs 54 lakh 80 thousand, number of workers in Korba district is 324, approved amount is Rs 71 lakh 05 thousand 25, number of workers in Raigarh district is 225, approved amount is Rs 44 lakh 86 thousand, number of workers in Bastar district is 22, approved amount is Rs 03 lakh 92 thousand 628, number of workers in Kondagaon district is 328, approved amount is Rs 29 lakh 68 thousand 500, Number of workers in Kanker district is 08, approved amount is Rs 8 lakh, number of workers in Dantewada district is 735, approved amount is Rs 1 crore 12 lakh 61 thousand 500, number of workers in Surguja district is 496, approved amount is Rs 99 lakh 20 thousand, number of workers in Jashpur district is 28, approved amount is Rs 9 lakh 60 thousand, number of workers in Durg district is 340, approved amount is Rs 79 lakh 20 thousand, number of workers in Rajnandgaon district is 976, approved amount is Rs 1 crore 83 lakh 25 thousand, number of workers in Balod district is 200, approved amount is Rs 40 lakh 80 thousand and number of workers in Kabirdham district is 1326, approved amount is Rs 1 crore 59 lakh 10 thousand.

In this way, a total of Rs 14.47 crore has been approved to benefit 33 thousand 873 workers and their families. This amount has been approved by Chhattisgarh Bhawan Nirman and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
